Four must-try types of crabs in Hokkaido include tarabagani (red king crab), kegani (horsehair crab), zuwaigani (snow crab), hanasakigani (hanasaki crab). There are many different shops and restaurants in each region of Hokkaido where you will be able to try a variety of crab dishes.
Hokkaido’s style barbecue of mutton and lamb, which are first marinated in a savory sauce, and cooked on a dome-shaped special metal grill. It is different from regular yakiniku, because it is meant to be eaten with vegetables. The dish goes well with beer and you won’t be able to stop eating rice along with the meat in its rich sauce!
