Apple

Aomori Prefecture makes up 56 % of the apple market in Japan. Its greatest production is of the Fuji variety, which has moderate acidity with a pleasant crunchy texture. As the number one producer in Japan, Aomori also offers the best apple pie, cider, and nutritional apple bath.

Ichigoni

A Hachikami traditional cuisine, ichigoni is a richly flavored seafood soup with sea urchin and abalone from the Pacific Ocean. The sea urchin in the broth looks like a wild strawberry (ichigo), and therefore it was named so. This dish is often served during the New Year celebration.
